About the Best Books
The 100 Best Picture Books collection was started as a fun way to promote some of the best books written for children and encourage families to read some books that they might not be familiar with. The list, selected by Pictou Antigonish Regional Library staff Lorraine (Antigonish Outreach Coordinator) and Kristel (Children's Services Librarian), features some timeless classics as well as more current favorites. Collections are currently available in Monastery, Westville, and Pictou. The first set was unveiled in the Monastery Rural Access Site and was followed by a collection in Westville. In 2008 many of these great books also became available to borrow from Pictou. If you don’t live in Monastery, Westville, or Pictou, you can still borrow these great books. You can request the book online by clicking on the book listed below. Remember, you can always ask a library staff member to help you too.
