Nova Scotia Library Association President’s Message

Charlotte Janes NSLA PresidentIt is hard to believe that we are coming around to conference time again. Each conference promises a different theme, hosted in another part of the province. How lucky are we? This year is no exception.

A huge thank you to the Pictou-Antigonish Regional Library as they host the 2007 conference in Antigonish. This year’s program committee has an extraordinary lineup of workshops, author readings and networking opportunities for us all. You will be able to explore new concepts, hot trends, hear success stories, share ideas and look to the future. The pre-conference sessions will be a good starting point for many.

Each year the hosting regional public library system adds their own touch to the conference. Delegates of NSLA are very fortunate to have such a cooperative and sharing environment. As in recent years this conference will include the Library Boards’ Association of Nova Scotia. During each such opportunity where both associations are present I hear comments on what a great opportunity this is for everyone. Don’t miss this excellent chance to do some old-fashioned social networking, with friends and delegates from across the province, all without a computer or web address.

I look forward to meeting and socializing with you - oh, don’t forget your costume.

Charlotte Janes, NSLA President
