Conference Highlights
Join us in the Highland Heart of Nova Scotia with the Pictou–Antigonish Regional Library as we host the annual Nova Scotia
Library Association conference. With the theme, “Festival of Writers:
from parchment to podcast”, the conference offers a variety of
informational programs for management, technical department and
front line staff. As well as a full line up of gifted and
well-respected speakers, the conference will offer:
- Figures of Literature costume contest with grand prize of two nights free accommodation at any Delta Hotel in Canada
- live music social with Antigonish's Mishra's Dream, a quartet of gypsy-jazz musicians playing instrumental tunes in the style of Django Reinhardt
- wine and cheese social with live jazz duo
- early morning "Start the Day Laughing" workshop with Rene Robichaud and morning nature walk with owl authority, Randy Lauff
- and most important, 70% cocoa chocolate bar door prize for each program!

PARL board member and photographer, Conrad Poirier, has generously
donated one of his framed prints as a door prize to be given away at
the NSLA key note address and lunch on Saturday, September 22.
