Tuesday through Friday 10 a.m. - 9 p.m.
Saturday 10 a.m. -  5:00 p.m.
Sunday( Sept. to May only) 2 p.m. -  5 p.m.

A 24 hour bookdrop is available beside the Library entrance.

New Glasgow Public Library is one of seven branches in our regional library system and is located beside the New Glasgow Fire Station. We offer a full range of free services and access to the resources of all Nova Scotia public libraries. The Internet is also accessible free of charge, please call for more details.

Collection: Books for all ages and interests, reference, large print books, videos, magazines, books on cassette, government documents, and more.

Services: Reader's advisory, reference, inter-library loan, magazines, videos, audio books, instructional tours available upon request.

A preschool storytime is also available for ages 3 to 5 years. Call 755-6031 or e-mail info@parl.ns.ca for more information.

Senior's Cafe: held the last Monday of every month from Sept.-June. The cafe is open to all seniors and features library services, computer training, music, refreshments and speakers talking about issues relevant to seniors. The library is closed to the public during these events and is open only to those attending the Cafe. Please call or e-mail for details.

 Special Collections: Large history collection specializing in Pictou County. Ritchie Records (index to cemeteries in the County and census information). Local newspapers on microfilm, historical census, and many other items of genealogical interest.

Technology Services: Eleven public access computers (Public, Express, and Kid's) all with Internet access, Corel WordPerfect Suite, Microsoft Office 2000, scanners, digital camera, laser and colour inkjet printing, and more.
