Roots Society Visit Pictou County Roots Society at the New Glasgow Library.

One of our largest branches, and located downtown on the corner of Archimedes & Dalhousie streets, next door to the Fire Station. We offer a full range of free services and access to the resources of all Nova Scotia public libraries. New Glasgow Library is also a Community Access Program (CAP) site, sponsored by Industry Canada and the Nova Scotia Technology and Science Secretariat. At the New Glasgow Library you can access a wireless hotspot to high speed Internet.

Sunday (Sept-May only) 2 – 5pm

A 24 hour bookdrop is available beside the Library entrance.

The Pictou-Antigonish Regional Library Board will provide non-profit groups with meeting space free of charge in the Library Program Room, when not in use for library activities. These meetings are to be of a non-fund raising, non-revenue generating nature. The Board reserves the right to accept or reject requests for the use of meeting space.   • ABC's for Babies
    • Tuesday mornings at 10:15am. Call 755-6031 or e-mail for more information.
  • Toddle Time
    • Wednesday mornings at 10:15 am. Call 755-6031 or e-mail for more information.
  • Preschool Storytime
    • available for ages 3 to 5 years on Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 pm and Thursday morning at 10:15 am. . Call 755-6031 or e-mail for more information.
  • Book Club
    • held on the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 7:00 pm. Please call or e-mail for details.
  • Senior's Cafe
    • meets the last Monday of every month at 10:00a.m. from Sept.-June. The cafe is open to all seniors and features library services, computer training, music, refreshments and speakers talking about issues relevant to seniors. The library is closed to the public during these events and is open only to those attending the Cafe. Please call or e-mail for details.
