County of Pictou Municipal Building

County Offices were formally the Pictou County Jail built in 1890 by Pictou architect Melville McKean at a cost of $11,000.00. Built in a Second Empire Style, distinctive features include the mansard roof and quoin work. The building was fired by a prisoner in 1969 and subsequently condemned. The Municipality of the County of Pictou renovated the building and it now serves as Municipal Offices.
