Local History Room Library Collections

There are a number of materials located in your regional public library that aid in local historical and genealogical research.  

• The Ritchie Cemetery Records - The Henry C. Ritchie Records are held in the New Glasgow Library and include genealogies, cemetery records and miscellaneous materials.
   

• Glass Cabinet Collection - New Glasgow Library's historical reference collection.
   

• Microfilm - Index to the microfilm collection in the New Glasgow Library.
   

• The MacPherson Photographic Collection - historical images pertaining to Pictou County.

• Census Records - The New Glasgow Library holds both printed and microfilm copies of various records for Pictou and Antigonish Counties.
   

• The Bud White Collection - Reference collection held in the Pictou Library consisting of material concerning family history, churches, the Pictou Academy and Pictou history.
   

• Grey Box Collection - collection of unpublished genealogies, local histories and much more held at New Glasgow Library.
   

• Scrapbooks - "Your Yesteryears" by James Cameron, Pictou County Churches, Cemetery Clippings, Industries, Historical Notes, Time Capsules, and miscellaneous.
