Pictou County Naturalists Club
Non-members are welcome to attend these friendly,
informal meetings. Meetings are held the first Tuesday of
each month unless otherwise noted.
Pictou County Roots Society
The second Tuesday of each month members of the
Pictou County Roots Society meet in our New Glasgow Library
program room. Guest speakers speak on genealogy and share
their knowledge on topics ranging from local history to
family trees. Non-members are always welcome to attend and
enjoy presentations.
Book Clubs
Each month these groups in at the New Glasgow,
Antigonish, River John and Pictou branches read a book and come together
to share their thoughts.
Pictou County Writers' Group
All writers of varying types and levels of
experience are welcome to attend. As well, non-members are
also encouraged to visit and see what this active group of
writers has to offer in terms of support and advice. Take
along something to read.
Monthly meetings are divided into two times and locations to
meet the schedules of all members:
the first Tuesday of each month in the Westville Library at
6:30 and on the third Monday of the month in the New Glasgow
Library Program Room, at 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Meetings feature free guest speakers on publishing and many
aspects of creative writing.
Highland Garden Club
Monthly meetings are held the 4th Tuesday of each month.
Learn about gardening, landscaping, and work on community
projects. Informal and fun meetings. New members are welcome
to join. Non - members always welcome to come out and hear
guest speakers.
Antigonish Library
Book Club
The Book Club in Antigonish meets the third
Wednesday of every month at 8:00 p.m. Please call the
Antigonish branch at 863-4276 for details.

New Glasgow Library

Expedition in the Yukon
Leslie Klapstein will share photos of her 30-day
adventure hiking the wilds of Canada's north in the
Yukon as an instructor with National Outdoor Leadership
School, which allows students to do extended backcountry
hiking to develop leadership and conservation skills.

Feathers Down Under
Guest speaker Ken McKenna will present an
illustrated talk on the birds of Western Australia. All
welcome to attend.

Roots". All welcome to attend.
Pictou County Writers' Group Monday,

branch offers two separate book clubs for our patrons. Meetings will take place on the
third Tuesday and Thursday of each month.

Pictou County Writers' Group Each first
Tuesday of the month, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. starting January 5th.
Please note the Feb. 2nd meeting will be a free, creative
writing workshop with our WiR, Gary Blackwood.
Registration is required to attend by calling the library at
