Canadian Women for Women in Afghanistan/Freedom to Read Week Presentation 
Special guest speaker, CBC Radio's National Reporter, Stephen Puddicombe will present his illustrated talk "Censorship in Afghanistan" featuring his own photos taken while reporting in Afghanistan.
Canadian Women for Women in Afghanistan is a volunteer not-for-profit organization founded in 1996 with ten chapters across Canada.  The goals are to advance education and educational opportunities for Afghan women and their families and to educate and increase the understanding of Canadians about human rights in Afghanistan.  All welcome to attend this public talk and information session.

Expedition in the Yukon

Leslie Klapstein will share photos of her 30-day adventure hiking the wilds of Canada's north in the Yukon as a participant with National Outdoor Leadership School, which allows students to do extended backcountry hiking to develop leadership and conservation skills.

Open Mic Night
The Pictou County Writers' Group and the Pictou-Antigonish Regional Library will hold an Open Mic Night for writers of all types and levels of experience.  Musicians also encouraged to attend and take part in this live-performance event.  Everyone is encouraged to drop by and make this a successful night to help to make Open Mics a regular event in this venue.  To ensure fair time allotment, performers are required to register upon arrival.  Doors open at 6:30.  Light refreshments.  For more information, please contact our programming department at 755-6031 and ask for Steve.

this program was originally delivered on Wednesday, February 24th to a capacity audience.  Due to continuing interest and the turning away of people due to fire-occupancy limits, the same program will be offered once again.
