Canadian Women for Women in Afghanistan/Freedom to Read
Week Presentation
Special guest speaker, CBC Radio's National Reporter,
Stephen Puddicombe will present his illustrated talk
"Censorship in Afghanistan" featuring his own photos taken
while reporting in Afghanistan.
Canadian Women for Women in Afghanistan is a volunteer
not-for-profit organization founded in 1996 with ten
chapters across Canada. The goals are to advance
education and educational opportunities for Afghan women and
their families and to educate and increase the understanding
of Canadians about human rights in Afghanistan.
All welcome to attend this public talk and information
session.

Leslie Klapstein will share photos of her 30-day adventure
hiking the wilds of Canada's north in the Yukon as a

leadership and conservation skills.

The Pictou County Writers' Group and the
Pictou-Antigonish Regional Library will hold an Open Mic

by and make this a successful night to help to make Open
Mics a regular event in this venue. To ensure fair

How Coyotes are Evolving in the East

continuing interest and the turning away of people due to
fire-occupancy limits, the same program will be offered once

Wildlife and fisheries biologist, private consultant,
and frequent guest on CBC Radio's, Maritime Noon, Bob
Bancroft, will give an illustrated and timely talk on the
natural history of coyotes: their movement into the
Maritimes, how they are becoming more wolf-like and how they
are rewriting the text books while adapting to and
interacting with humans. All welcome to attend.
