The Roots of the Bethal Presbyterian Church go back to the formation of St. John's Kirk church in Scotland in 1822. In 1843 almost everyone was leaving their church to form "free churches", and that is how the idea for the Bethal Church started. The first Worship service in the Bethal Church was held in January 1863, with Minister Alexander Sutherland.

For 8 generation the torch as been passed, and Bethal will continue to have future history. For the congregation has a great tradition of faith.
