Pictou-Antigonish Regional Library welcomes all!
We offer services to help those with visual loss or other disabilities better access our resources.
Books with clear, larger, high-contrast type. You can find large print titles in all branches of the Regional Library as well as Books By Mail. (These books are not only good for those with vision challenges but are also good for reading on a treadmill.)
Large Print Books are gathered together in their own sections at each of the library branches. If you are looking for a specific title, search the online catalogue by title. All Large Print Books have [large print] inserted following their titles. If you need help finding large print titlesour staff would be happy to help you. Call any of our branches.
Talking books, cassette players and Daisy CD players are available for long term loan.
We can deliver books, audio books and DVDs to you if you are temporarily or permanently homebound because of age, disability or illness. Talk to us about our Homebound Services by calling 1-866-779-7761.
When trainers are available we offer free one-on-one training and assistance at branch libraries and in several community sites.The Community Access Program (CAP) provides training to people on the use of various software programs, use of email programs, GPS, etc. As well the library offers special programs of the making the best of your digital camera.
Adjustable workstations are available at many of our branches and can be adjusted to various heights to meet the needs of individual users.
Workstations are positioned provide the best lighting and avoid glare.
