Wireless HotspotAll branches of the Pictou-Antigonish Public Library as well as the Havre Boucher and Lakevale CAP sites in Antigonish County, the Green Thumb Farmers Market (Green Hill) and Pictou Island in Pictou County offer 24 hour 7 days a week wireless internet access.

A Wireless Hotspot is a location that offers free wireless access to the public. Using a technology known as 802.11, laptop owners can wirelessly connect to Internet resources for work or recreational purposes.

All you need is a laptop with WiFi connectivity (most laptops purchased recently are likely to come "WiFi-enabled" - look for the WiFi logo on a sticker somewhere on your laptop). Once the laptop is wireless-enabled it should automatically detect the wireless hotspot. No special software is needed to use Hotspot services.

For Visitors:

For library wifi locations you do not need a library card. However, for bandwidth a library card is recommended. Register for your free library card here.
