Fun Fit passes are available at Pictou County libraries, thanks to a partnership with the YMCA of Pictou County!
Borrow a pass for free with your library card, and start exploring the Y!
How long can I borrow a pass?
Passes can be checked out for a 14-day loan period.
There will be no renewals on the Fun Fit Passes. Borrowers will need to return the passes to their nearest library branch or book drop (with the exception of YMCA passes* - please see note below).
There is no limit on how many times a borrower can check out a pass.
Lost or damaged cards will be subject to a replacement fee of $2.00.
Who can check out a pass?
Because all the facilities have policies that restrict use by children we will be restricting borrowers to adult users, which allows anyone ages 14 and above to borrow a Fun Fit Pass.
Anyone with a valid library card, ages 14 and above will be able to borrow a Fun Fit Pass.
Which library locations can passes be borrowed from?
All passes can be requested for pickup at your nearest branch location through our online catalogue or through your local library staff!
Check with your local library or our online Catalogue before stopping in for a pass.
What do the Fun Fit Passes Look like?
We will be packaging the passes inside of cases so that they can be returned to the library via book drops. Each case will contain one pass and information about the facility. All of the passes look like regular member passes for each facility.
What access do the passes grant borrowers at each facility?
The passes for each facility are family passes. They are subject to the policies of each facility in regard to what they consider a family under their fee structure.
Passes grant users access to all of the services that a regular family pass would at any of the facilities, excluding certain classes and lesson that require registration (i.e. swimming lessons), over the loan period.
One-Month Free Memberships: Borrowers of the YMCA pass should visit membership services at the YMCA upon their first visit to the facility. Their library pass will then be turned into a one-month free personal/family membership for the YMCA.
Easy Returns: You don't have to worry about returning this Fit Pass to the Library! Just leave the Library Pass at YMCA, and it will be returned for you.
Photo ID: YMCA requires pass-holders to show photo-ID when activating membership.
